New Delhi: India's Leading Court Bans Trade of Cattle for Slaughter Purposes

Amongst the minorities of India, the Muslims are in a great mess after India’s Supreme Court passed orders for over a government ban on the trade of cattle for slaughter purposes.

The actions have been made in accordance to boost Indian multi-dollar leather and beef industries that are already being run by the Muslims Minorities of  India.

Cattle trade are now only limited for agricultural purposes like dairy production and plowing in India. The markets were already decreased in May by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist government against the cruelty on animals.

Slaughter of Cows was already banned in most parts of India but the cow vigilante groups have increased in power after Modi’s government came in 2014.

The sale and purchase of Cows for slaughtering purposes are banned. Where are Muslims who make up 14% of India total population that os 1.3 billion said that government had taken this action affects beef and leather industry that employes million of workers.

Supreme Court Chief Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar, whereas said that, “The livelihood of people should not be affected by this.”

Worth $16 billion in annual sales are recorded by India’s meat and leather industry this could be a huge loss after this decision. Whereas Additional Solicitor General PS Narasimha has also mentioned that government will modify and reissue it’s May order.

 

The Leader of the Muslim All India Jamiatul Quresh Action Committee, Abdul Faheem Qureshi has also shown his views and commented over this ban, he said,

“We have to now restore the confidence of cattle traders that they can resume their business. It’ a victory for us.”

Moreover, Abdul Faheem Qureshi has also filed an appeal to Supreme Court of India over this issue against the government.
