Former Prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who was declared incompetent resigned from his post after the top court disqualified him on Friday, has said he wished to see his brother Shehbaz Sharif appointed the next prime minister.
In a meeting, Nawaz said though the final decision on who should be appointed the next prime minister, he hoped that Shehbaz, the chief minister of Punjab, would be chosen for the post, Express News reported.
Shehbaz is expected to run for NA-120, Lahore – sources said. Only after winning a National Assembly seat would Shehbaz be able to be appointed the next premier.
